Get Involved: Organizations closing the gender gap in the music industry

We at New Roots believe that the power to make real change is so much more effective when we join forces and team up with other people, organizations and businesses with a similar mission. We are better together, stronger together and more powerful together. In addition to leading weekend long experiences for female artists in Nashville, we also host all-female songwriter nights and networking events to foster a sense of community and support among women. We introduce artists to female industry pros for guidance so that they may learn from and be inspired by what is possible for women in the music industry.

If we want more women in executive roles, on stage, behind the scenes, on the radio, and in the studio, then we need to band together and highlight the women currently in those roles so they may set an example for future generations. Now, perhaps more than ever before, as our country attempts to take our rights away, we need to stand together and support one another because there is power in numbers and there is room for us all.

That being said, here are some wonderful organizations we encourage you to check out and support who stand for women in music supporting other women in music.

Reach out, attend events, network, support, donate, whatever you can do! Let’s help close the gender gap by showing up for one another
